A comedy of chicanery

 Tharman Shanmugaratnam has relinguished his PAP membership and minsterial position to contest the presidential election as an independent candidate.This has taken Singapore by storm and boggles the mind how a deeply tainted establishment figure can portray himself as an independent. The die is cast and he is seen to be animinatedly perambulating thrusting himself into all and sundry, the uncles and aunties, to twinkle his charms to beguile them to cast their votes for him as a independent candidate.

What takes the cake are MediaCorps and Straits Times who give such humiliating grandiose propaganda accompaniment that gives an obscene impression that they are treating him  still as an establishment figure with lofty rank. Is this at the enjoinment of PM Lee Hsien Loong as Tharman is his pet choice as president? It's true that publicity service is extended to the other two candidates George Goh Ching Wah and Ng Kok Song but it is done in a perfunctory manner and pale in comparison with the VIP  amenities accorded to Tharman. Do the public thank that this justicc and fair to the two rival  prospective candidates? I do not think they want to see this gross dispairity going further. If MediaCorps and Straits Times do not see this as a hint to desist or at lease to curb its obscene magnitude, I think it is possible that public patience may snap and Lee Hsien Loong will be landed with a sudden mammoth political rukcus.

No doubt MediaCorps offered its obeisant service to arrange the paraphernalia and audience  to give it a captivating effect. With due respect  to Tharman's  professed oratorical skills and so-called magnetic personality, I think I find his speeches to be quite drab and is amazing that they did not cause any somnalence to the audience. It sounds incomprehensible that he is accalimed for his oratorical persuasiveness. With humility I think I can do no worse that him in my humble oratorical talent. No disrespect to Tharman.

Tharman has to arrange an array of prominent assenters to prop up his precarious artificial independent image. How the Jamiyah CEO  can be muscled in by  him is auite a scream. Is he absolutely sure that the Malay rakyat understand his action. There is a Malay saying: usah memterdaykan akal rakyat  (Do not cheat or trick the intelligence of the rakyat (people). Is the Jamiyah CEO trying to bumsucks Lee Hsien Loong.

Ho Kwong Ping has a pristine public persona and he cannot be so benevolent to give a self-sacrificial spin to his antic. Is he having some kind of opague gratitude to the befuddled Lee Hsien Loong.

To top it all, Tharman cannot, with all his effort, to masquerade as an independent candidate with the decades-old establishment stain. He may try and he has a strong vainglorious persona and will not accept defeat. If in spite of all the unfavourable forecast of questionable asssertion of independence he is elected as president I think the people will be charitable enough to accept it.

A bizarre phenomenon that tickles your imagination

 Xi Jinping's China is perpetually a mysterious behemoth with  mystique allusiveness that strongly piques the curiosity of the especially western world. So anything unusual like the vanishing act of China's Foreign Minister Qin Gang (秦刚) will immediately elicit the most breathtking intelligence searching in the minds of Their  intelligence pundits.

Indeed the mysterious vanishing act of Qin Gang has clearly caused a plethora of panic and morbid anxiety to Xi and his ministers because it comes at a time of acute China-US conflict The surreality of the drama cannot but bring with it a host of unforeseen or inauspicious implications that China cannot afford to burden itself at this time.

The world is astounded by the magnitude and incredibility of the supernatural event happening in a tightly controlled vast country like China. That Qin Gang could habitate in China like a Will-o-the-wisp  with its tight security and probably cocking a snook at Xi is something like Alice in Wonderland. The question uppermost in the people's mind is why is he doing this? He was doing very well as China's Foreign Minister and there could not have been any dereliction of duty serious enough to attract disapproval. There is speculation of indiscretion  in his private life. But that could not be reason for his vanishing act. Xi may be privy to his predicament but he is not talking. So the world would have to wait for Qin Gang to think when it would be safe for him to appear and he may or may not sing.

In the meantime he has been removed as a foreign minister and his predecessor Wang Yi has taken over his duties.As far as Qin Gang is concerned  he will not entertain any illusion that he will ever return to his foreign minister post.even when he decides to show up.

China, the land of exquisite culture and celestial mystiques,  may see another similar political antic in the future.

Is this a black operation?

 I thought it was an Agatha Christie novel that vividly displayed a sensational video showing the romantic rendezvous in intimate ambience of two Workers' Party senior party lovebirds Leon Perera  and Nicole Seah which obviously brought them to the disastrious termination of their career. That this happened at the same time that a confounded PM Lee Hsien Loong was desperately grabbling with the extra-marital scandal of Tan Chuan Jin an Cheng Li Hui could not really be a co-incidence?

No one, who is not politically connected with the the State apparatus or some foreign clandestine espionage agencies, can have the resources and expertise to carry out rccklessly these clandestine acitivities of character assasination undertaking. The objective of the clandestine video is intended to cause an earthquake  in WP and true enough they are now burdened with the enormous task of damage control.

Aside from ISD and foreign clandestine espionage organisation no other indivdual or outfit can have the resources and expertise to carry out such black operation. ISD could not be daft enough to have carried out this operation with or without higher orders.This is definitely a black operation and a clandestine individual or outfit other than ISD had carried out this operation in Singapore is something that ISD need to look deeply into to prevent any disreputable backlash to the ISD in partiicular and the PAP government in general. Asia One and one Edmund Chua had been mentioned  but nothing conclusive. Home Minister K. Shanmugam swore that he had nothing to do with it and there is no reason to disbelieve him.

The operator was able to know the date, time and venue of the romantic rencontre shows the sophistication of the operator. The Russians were running circles round the British in Singapore  after the war. Who are running circles  round the ISD should be something the ISD cannot afford to overlook for  its redoubtable identity and something they want to know if they do not already. It will be the most grotesque scenario if either the free-and-easy PM Lee Hsien Loong or his successor gets screwed up by the clandestine operators assuming that they are foreigners. Singapore is really like a hollywood style metropolis.

The Tan Chuan Jin Mortal Touch

 The bombshell announcement of the sudden resignation of  Tan Chuan Jin from the PAP and as Speaker of Parliament cannot unfluster a profoundly mentally distracted PM Lee Hsien Loong from being morose   as the extra-marital scandal with a  fellow famme fatale colleague which probably reverberated relentlessly ad infinitum mainly  because of its brazen audacity and its possible political thunderstorm. Tan Chuan  Jin and his girlfriend Cheng Li Hui took the most gentlemen way out but it leaves the deflated Lee Hsien Loong holding the hottest potato. I say that it shocked the public unutterably  is just putting it mildly but what is the most uppermost task facing Lee Hsien Loong is damage control.

Equally detrimental to the reputaion of the PAP is the corruption probe of S. Iswaran which also shocked the public at the same time. There were also several scandals which abounded quick recently the most notable being the Ridout Road black and white bungalow scandal rented out to two PAP Ministers. So why are these plethora of scandals manifested at this time to bring down the PAP government to portend for the future? The discerning public are, for the beginning,clamouring for an explanation from Lee Hsien Loong why there had been such a long delay in exposing the Tan Chuan Jin scandal.

Does the series of scandals mean that is the divine signal of the coming of dawn which has eluded the deprived Singaporeans since time immemorial and that any sign from heaven will give them a fillip.So they will watch closely how the scandals will evolve and uppermost in their mind will be whether there will be a dynamic saviour emerging to lead in the autocracy demolition crusade. But now there does not appear to any such saviour on the horizon yet but since they have so long that they are quite resigned to wait a little longer.

Lawrence Wong., the chosen successor of Lee Hsien Loong, could not by any stretch of imagination be the divine assigned saviour. He and Lee Hsien Loong come from the same mould. But whether he will be more humanitarian and  benevolent than the money-minded Lee Hsien Loong wiill not be known until he has taken over  as prme minister. When this will happen will be a million-dollar question depending on the whim of Lee Hsien Loong as to when he will step down.

An open letter to PM Lee Hsien Loong

 This may be something that Heaven bedevils the PAP to curb their blatantly blustering tendencies.

The lunatic utterance of expletive in Parliament by the cavalier Speaker Tan Chuan Jin has boomeranged so inimically against TCJ that it leaves the mentally-battered PM Lee Hsin Loong in such a muddled fluster. The victimised Workers' Party MP Jamus Lim had naively accepted TCJ's apology without realising the gravity of the matter which provoked a massive reaction from  concerned Singaporeans calling for his resignation as Speaker of Parliament. This must have scared the shit out of both LCJ and Lee Hsien Loong. And this unfortunately looks like it's going to drag on until TCJ is removed as Speaker. Lee Hsien Loong can ignore this at his peril.

It seems that with  his abrasive character this is not the first time that TCJ has been caught using unparliamentary languages against Opposition MPs. Therefore it is patently clear that there is a character flaw with him.and it boggles the mind  how he could be appointed an impartial Speaker with decorum. The expletive used against Jamus Lim comes with the realm  of taboo and no sane and rational person will normally use it. So can it be said that Tan Chuan Jin was not sane and rational when he used this expletive against Jamus Lim. who should by now realise its graviity.

I don't  think the discerning public will be satisfied with a censure which is actually a slap on the wrist. .Opposition  MPs will be placed in a dilemma as to how to accommodate an insane and irrational Speaker whose impartiality will be a big question mark.

The die is cast and there does not appear to be any other course for Lee Hsien Loong. It he still dithers,there is an open course for him to seek public opinion like a referendum or other similar courses. Anyway, Tan Chuan Jin gives a public image of  a swaggerer and blusterer and could he be expected to give advice and guidance to especially Opposition MPs?

A retrospecion to amuse and to evaluate

 It gives me immense felicitation to regale from time to time the ideosyncracies and grotesque caricature manifestations of our so-called elected people's leaders for the enlightenment of the discerning and interested public.

The redoubtable Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is a big hit for such jocular portrayal. He was born with  a golden spoon and had never known any hardship in his entire pampered life. Being the eldest son he was naturally Lee Kuan Uw's pet, principal heir and anointed successor. He started off as a prime minister in a quite impressive benevolent manner but along the way impregnated with the loftiness of egotism and showed frequent glimpses of gross inhumanity.

I happened to ask him once as to where was he when I and my colleagues were fighting the communists in the front line at the risk of our lives. We were prime targets of the communist killer squad. What does he thnk that for what purpose that we were making such sacrifices. It could not be so ungodly that he could think that we were sacrificing so that he and his million-dollar minsters can sit on their fat asses and wallow in their luxurious livelihood at the people's expense. Is there any iota of humility and decency that could be detected among this eminent group.

They were pocketing millions of people's money ostensibly for providing public service and civil servants like us live on poverty line, and below poverty line in my  case, whilst they wallow in luxury. When our Pensioners' Association representatives approached for a raise in our poverty pension they were admonished that they were waiting for us to die because we had served our purpose and what we received was enough. They were peremtorily sent off.

When Lee Kuan Yew was alive the family was a wholesome whole with harmony and filiality. Lee Kuan Yew had hardly warmed his grave and we now see the Lee family dissipated into aboriginal adversaries arising from their in-fighting. Lee Hsien Yang's offsprings seem to be better endowed intellectually and his eldest son Lee Shengwu is an Assistant Professor in Havard University. For some enigmatic reason he is hounded by Lee Hsien Loong so that he has to seek divine beneficence by migrating to the US for the time being. Shengwu was once asked by journalists what he thought of his uncle's vindtictiveness. He answered with a simple profound remark: Ozymandias.  What does Lee Hsien Loong say?

Lawrence Wong is a good choice as Lee Hsien Loong's successor. He has shown his competency in a cmmendable way and is now waiting for Lee Hsien Loong to step down. Is he latter proscrastinating?
