An accolade for PM Lawrence Wong

There is always a silver lining. PM Lawrence Wong may not be the ideal prime minister that is everyone's cup of tea but it is only fair that any show of merit on his part should be given public approbation.

Prime minister's visits to Basic Military Training Centre  (BMTC)  have always been a prosaic affair which hardly attracted public excitement. I think PM Lawrence Wong's visit to the BMTC in Pulau Tekong on Monday 26 August created an econoclastic picture that projected him as a down-to-earth people's prime minister. He shed his normal attire and put on a T shirt and short pants like the recruits and joined them in a 2.4 km run just like a recruit. His amiable interaction could not but leave a deep impression in the mind of the recruits, not less the officers'. I don't think the cocky Lee Hsien Loong had ever lowered himself to run with BMTC recruits in his career. He only ensconced himself in his ivory tower and his only public artificial show is his so-called constituency visit to his Teck Key Ward in AMK GRC. It is not unreasonable for PM Lawrence Wong to show that he is a cut above Lee Hsien Loong as prime minister.

PM Lawrence Wong could be perfect if he would overcome some aspects of his inhumanitarianism of his character. For instance he could be less intransigence in dealing with the obscene astronomical ministerial salaries which is seen by the public as plundering people's wealth. It needs no imagination to expose this as their greediness in enriching themselves with people's money ad infinitum. If he is honest enough to modify their venality PM Lawrence Wong could go down in Singapore history as the most upright prime minister.

He thinks he is some kind of Messiah and behaves like one. He believes he is the son of God descended from heaven to save Singapore from a troubled world. He likes to believe that the people think he is full of wisdom to accomplish this.  In other words he portrays himself as a savior.

May God bless him and Singapore.

The divination of a self-exaltation myth

The euphoria that accompanied the appointment of Lawrence Wong as prime minister is understandable.because he came with excellent credentials. It was expected that the packed audience at the National Day Rally was a captive one but it cannot be denied that the public were not delighted with his oration.although there were many who may have reservaions. That his oration at the National Day Rally was a magnificint and brilliant performance could be seen from the supreme response inside and outside the Rally.

He exuded supreme confidence by covering almost all aspects of our problems needing amelioration which showed the supreme quality of his competence. It is quite natural that he received high praises from beneficiaries who would be recipients of his largesse.including prominent muslim organisations.

He cannot be blamed for basking in the glory of his achievements but lately a few pockets of disenchanting expositions have shown up to disabuse certain glaring misinfomation is his sermon which may give the wrong impression to the public.that he is self-aggrandizing.

Indeed PM Lawrence Wong could be portrayed as a glib-tongued saleman who wooed his clients with fabulous offers but when his clients paid up for their bargained purchases they were dumbfounded in dismay to find that they were short-changed.

Sermon on the Mount

Congratulations for a magificient and brilliant oration in the National Day Rally on 18 August 2024. that could have knocked Lee Kuan Yew off his pedestal and cast the vaunted Lee Hsien Loong in the realm of underclass.. Although the audience was a captive one there is no reason that it does not highly delighted the public. Maybe it is a bit too early to be euphoric because this is still in the talking stage.

PM Lawrence Wong pledges  cover almost all aspects of or problems needing amelieration but he seems to have overlooked a significant horror that has haunted he public for a long time. There is no mention of how he is going to deal with the obscene astronomical ministerial salaries. It will be a albatross round his neck. Could it be that he is intoxicated by the possession of massive unethical wealth to be the deterrent to any action. The public would like to know.

Otherwise this will always be a stain on their reputation but then they are so thick-skinned. The avaricious Lee Hien Loong is a typical example pf a voracious money-grabber. His days are numbered and his Nemesis is none other than his successor PM Lawrence Wong.

May God bless you
